Next Step Knitting: “Mutze” Hat

Description: Put your new knitting skills to work, and make this cute, slightly slouchy hat. Spun’s Mutze (one of our Spundamentals) is a simple knit that looks complicated: your loved ones will be impressed, and you can bask in the glory! This class will teach you how to work in the round, using both circular and double-pointed needles; perform simple decreases; and follow a basic written pattern.
Prerequisites: Participants should be familiar with the long-tail cast-on, knitting, and purling.

Min/max number of participants: 5/8
Materials to bring along:
- One skein of light-colored worsted weight yarn, purchased from Spun (we recommend )
- 16” size US5 and US7
- an extra pair of size US7 or US8 needles, straight or circular, for in-class practice
- Size US7
- A copy of the "Mutze" pattern (free with yarn purchase; if ordering online, just include a note in the comments field requesting it)
